Evidence-Based Principles for Effective Parental Engagement
Description
Rigorous research has shown that programs which provide parents with clear, actionable guidance on how to be more involved in children’s education, as well as programs which provide information on children’s school performance have a positive impact on learning.
Community engagement programs could also increase parental involvement though more research is needed to understand the conditions in which such programs are effective. Drawing on resources developed for the FLN Hub, this session will present findings from rigorous research of parental engagement programs and discuss contextual and implementation considerations for such programs.
